The other type of people are those that have not developed their creative mind. These people are often prone to emotional responses and often find themselves battling doubt, fear, sadness, etc and usually sit back wondering why. Boredom is common with these types of people also.

The creative mind is always going. This mind stays active producing something new and analyzing complex problems often. Usually these types of people can find answers quickly without assistance from others. But, these people must develop self as a whole, otherwise chaos will develop and force them to plug along to battle many obstacles that will develop.

By understanding your level of creativity, you can work through development of self as a whole, which makes socializing easier.

If you are unhappy with your life then most likely you have held on to guilt, shame, anger and many other negative emotions and used them to build your core self concept. This means that you have a wall inside that is built to compulsively resist any action that relates to these experiences. This is not healthy and can lead to more serious issues such as depression and even physical illness. Be patient while your working on reprogramming your brain and subconscious. It took some learning for it to be negative all these years so it will take time to change the way to thinking positive.

Once you’ve worked at changing your attitude to think positive you’ll begin to notice and so will people around you that your self-confidence and self-esteem will improve greatly. Becoming a new and different takes time and work so work hard at performing better to be where and what you want to be.

Performance is based on how you brain performs when it using the self talks techniques. Stay on the outlook for the negative things to pop up once in awhile and that is when you walk away to look at things in a more positive way.

Unhealthy Regulation of Self in Private Speech

Many can perceive private speech an unhealthy and improper but is in fact on of the main ways that we learn and develop as we become more mature. As children we are able to freely use private speech as learning tools that can aid us through difficult tasks and that is able to self regulate us as well. If we to observe a child at play we may see them talking to themselves. This is thinking aloud and can be classified as private speech. Children are able to process their thoughts and organize them through private speech and are able to learn and work through difficult tasks through this method.

As adults we tend to outgo this method of learning, as we become more self aware and self-conscious. It becomes harder for us to use the tool of private speech as we restrict our thoughts and tend to internalize them as well. As adults there are some occasions that we may catch ourselves talking aloud and processing but this is typically only when we are under serious stress and are trying to vent or find a release or a resolution to the issue at hand. Other than that all the things that we have already learned do no tend to surface in private speech.

If we were less self-conscious we could use private speech to our benefit as well. In adults this is referred to as thinking aloud and this is very much a way to work through problems. When we vocalize a problem we are using all our senses to tackle the problem. When we open our minds to private speech or thinking aloud we are better equipped to handle or tackle the problem. The brain is opened up to the problem at hand and there is an integrated approach to the problem as well.

Private speech has many applications and can be used in planning, designing and monitoring processes. It is a great way to stump erratic thought in its path and to give way to logical thinking and thought. Most of us that do not listen to our inner thoughts or do not engage in private speech are unable to control our impulses. This is because we act unconsciously and do not process or thoughts. We are therefore not in control but the inner unconscious mind is in control.

If we were to use our inner voice effectively and engage in thinking aloud we would be able to avoid erratic action. We would have better control of our thoughts and actions and we would be equipped and fit to handle the daily problems that we may face on a daily basis. We become better individuals that are self-regulated and able to function under pressure.

With the use of private speech we are able to eventually learn to cope with the issues that arise and are able to later on tackle these problems without private speech. Internalized private speech however will not stop and this will continue to aid us as we continue to grow and develop in life. Self development is one of the best ways that we can handle life and we must use all the personal tools available to us to develop into better persons that are happier and more fulfilled with life.

Private speech is a widely discussed topic in the psycholinguistics circles. It has something to do with studies of children in various age groups. These children used private speech to control and guide themselves in their daily work and tasks. These so called self-talk were noticed by researchers that self talk or private speech was used by the smaller children to focus their attention on certain things.

Younger children like babies and toddlers are just learning to talk, mimic the words and sometimes instructions of the adults around them. They do this because they have learned that when these words are the automatic reactions of the adults. For example, if the baby goes near stair or a potentially dangerous area, the parents automatically say, “no, not there”. As the child gets used to this, every time he goes near the same spot he tells himself, “no”.

Self-regulation refers to the ability of the child to focus and control his or her behavior. He must be able to comprehend what is needed from him or her in a given situation, monitor his or her behavior to be able to match it to the situation and maintain or change his actions based on his own evaluation of the situation. Teachers and parents should know the importance of self-regulation. Any child who can regulate his behavior can stay in place and give the needed attention to task at hand. The child may also pay attention to the teacher when she is talking without being permanently distracted by any disturbance.

Researchers noticed that private speech is a common occurrence in children below ten years old and eventually decreases as the child grows older. Private talks need to be understood accordingly. As a child manages to master his behavior and have self control, private speech is being understood and learned gradually. This process is at times referred to as meditation. This happens because we do not have to process the words or information that we already understand but our mind works actively in decoding the words heard or read and are applied to ourselves according to how we interpret those words.

People use private speech as a way to monitor, organize and solve problems and situations which face them or while engaging gin various activities. The brain is functioning in a multilevel stage and this is good brain exercise. This is a learning process because it helps people break down a problem and help them understand how to solve it. For children on the other hand, self-regulation happens when he or she internally understand the words heard. If a parent patiently discusses the matter privately, the one on one discussion becomes the self-regulating or learning process for the child to understand the situation in detail. So is there a need to discuss the matter with a child privately? Yes, if this will help the child understand how self-regulating process happens.
